What the G1 Basic is
The G1 Basic is the showpiece tier of Unitree’s G1 line: 23 degrees of freedom, 90 N·m knee torque, a 2 kg arm payload and a library of pre-loaded routines, with an 8-month warranty and a quoted 7–15 day dispatch from US dealer stock. At $17,990 it is down from a $21,500 list, and it is the configuration people mean when they ask what a G1 costs.
What it does not include — and what the ladder above it costs
Like the R1 Basic, it has no SDK. The next tier up, the G1 Pro at $28,950, adds a 3-DOF waist, 7-DOF arms, 120 N·m joints, a D435i camera and a 128-line LiDAR, and unlocks additional stored actions — but it still does not permit secondary development. It is listed in stock at the same dealer checkout, verified September 7, 2026. Programmability starts at the G1 EDU Standard, $43,900.
The manufacturer sells a G1 direct at $13,500 plus $300–$1,200 freight from China. That route is genuinely cheaper on the sticker; what the US dealer price buys is domestic stock, a US warranty and institutional purchasing. The price-difference explainer sets out both channels side by side.
